10 Awesome Easter Eggs Hidden In TV Opening Titles

2. All The Stephen King References - Castle Rock

It's not exactly a secret that Castle Rock is a spiritual successor to the works of Stephen King, and while the series itself includes many emphatic links to some of King's most well-known novels, the show's intro sequence alone is a veritable treasure trove of Easter eggs and nods to his litany of classic books.

To name just a few of the callouts packed into the 30-second opening: we see two pages from King's novel Needful Things, there's a map of Maine which includes not only Castle Rock but also Derry (the setting of It), countless zoomed-in covers of iconic King books, and when J.J. Abrams receives his executive producer credit, the blueprints for The Shawshank Redemption's titular prison are visible (pictured above).

These are just a few of the many, many dozens of Easter eggs hidden within the titles, and while they might basically announce themselves to hardcore King fans, to the more casual observer they seem like nothing more than random jargon.
