10 Awesome Game Of Thrones Moments That Made Us Cheer

This conversation between Oberyn and Tyrion is one of the best in the entire series, and it ends in the absolute perfect way.

After being falsely accused of killing Joffrey, Tyrion has demanded a trial by combat. The only problem is absolutely nobody is willing to fight for him, not even Bronn, who did so back in Season 1. It seems like Tyrion is completely screwed, and once again fate is not on his side.

But then Oberyn comes to visit, telling an emotional story about how he went to see Tyrion when he was born. Everyone was calling Tyrion a monster, but Oberyn saw that he was just a baby, realizing how much Tyrion already had stacked against him and would for the rest of his life. Oberyn declares that he's come to King's Landing to bring those who have wronged him to justice, and he's going to start with Gregor Clegane. "I will be your champion," he concludes. Hell yes.

This scene is pretty satisfying both because it plays on our desires for somebody to finally get fed up with the Lannisters and start taking revenge, and because for once, Tyrion is actually getting a victory. He might actually have a chance here!

And then that didn't work out either. But even Oberyn's horrifying, violent death can't take away from how incredibly satisfying this scene is.
