10 Awesome TV Shows Still To Return In 2016

8. Supergirl

Ghost Rider New Girl Negan
The CW

Supergirl is coming to The CW this year, and in fairness it's reasonable to wonder why it wasn't there in the first place. The network has shown an ability to deliver quality superhero TV shows, and since this comes from Greg Berlanti, fits right in with the Arrowverse.

Now that it is on The CW, it may have a smaller budget, but it should be a tighter series too. The first season was a decent introduction, elevated by some inspired performances - in particular Melissa Benoist in the lead role - that gave the series a lot of charm and watchability.

Entering its second season, we should have a show much more assured of what it is and what it can do, and the new addition of Superman to draw in extra interest. Supergirl Season 1 was fun, but Season 2 should be smarter, bigger, and better.

Air Date: October 10.
