10 Awesome TV Shows That Never Won A (Major) Emmy Award

4. The Leftovers

The Leftovers Season 3
HBO

The most recent series on this list, with Damon Lindelof's series being completely overlooked during its three-season run (with the exception this year of Ann Dowd, who received a Guest Actress nod). And with the show coming to an end earlier in 2017, there's no longer any chance of putting it right.

The series had a difficult first season, but Seasons 2 and in particular 3 provided some of the most beautiful television of the decade so far. And while you can point to the victories of shows like Game of Thrones and Orphan Black over the past couple of years, there's not much of an excuse for it not sweeping the board this year.

The Leftovers Season 3 was the best drama on TV; Carrie Coon the best actress; and Mimi Leder's director was exceptional. That none were even nominated is something of a travesty.
