4. Angela And Andy (The U.S. Office)
Another awkward alliterative couple in a mockumentary from the mind of Greg Daniels, but unlike Andy and Ann, Angela and Andy were a sign of the show's oncoming downward spiral. The reason they got together was reasonable enough (Angela wanted to get back at Dwight for killing her cat), their relationship went on way too long and made very little sense. This was during one of Ed Helms's many character shifts as Andy, and the show started portraying him as a lovable goofball rather than a conniving coworker. So while Angela's continued disdain for all things unholy made her the mean one in the office, Andy started showing genuine affection for her which made their courtship uncomfortable. The show wanted you to root for Angela and Dwight getting back together, so at a certain point Andy became more of an obstacle than a legitimate romantic presence. The fact that they were never right for each other only exacerbated the awkwardness of their relationship. It was easy to see that Andy just wanted to settle with anyone and Angela was the most reliable target, but Angela was far too stern to put up with any of Andy's tomfoolery. Thankfully the show got rid of this relationship, and like Parks and Rec it was rarely acknowledged later.
