10 Background Actors In Star Trek Who Got Themselves Noticed

7. Lorine Mendell (All Seven Seasons Of TNG)

Star Trek Diana Giddings
CBS

Lorine Mendell appeared in all seven seasons of Star Trek The Next Generation. She is not simply a blink and you'll miss her face in the crowd, as she was continually brought back in to appear again and again. Not only that, but her character was named as Diana Giddings.

She appeared in both operations gold and science blue uniforms, being both promoted and demoted in her run on the show. She appeared most prominently in the attached photo, welcoming the outrageous Okana to the ship.

She would continue on with the show, appearing on the bridge of the Enterprise-B as well in Star Trek: Generations. While she may not have had a speaking role on the show (and has since retired from acting), she did reprise her role in a 1989 episode of Webster, where she again appeared in her science blue uniform (alongside Michael Dorn).
