10 Best Animated TV Shows Of The 1990s
3. Animaniacs
Although Animaniacs would seem like just another show for children on surface level, it's full of sharp humour and clever pop culture references, and thus becomes a variety show which is appealing to viewers of all ages. The writing is clever and witty, the voice acting is top-notch and the animation is consistently fluid and smooth.
The series is based around a group of eccentric Warner Bros. characters, particularly focused on the sibling trio Yakko, Wakko and Dot. As the episodes are fragmented into different segments, it aids to create an even faster paced series that could rival the Looney Tunes for slapstick and funny escapades.
And of course, the show wouldn't be quite complete without the supporting characters, from Slappy the Squirrel and Chicken Boo, to Pinky and the Brain.
Animaniacs is now almost 30 years old but is still remembered fondly as one of the most enjoyable, one of a kind cartoons of the 1990s.
