10 Best Anime Shows Of The Last Decade

7. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

One Punch Man
David Production

As you can expect from a series with such a wild title, this is a wholly charismatic and over-the-top experience that delivers on plenty of fun.

Describing the concept and narrative on paper makes it sound like an utterly bonkers watch, and it is. Still, the interesting characters, distinctive art style and surprisingly nuanced stories make it believable and must-see.

Unlike most typical anime, the story doesn't follow one protagonist. Rather it divides its time amongst the Joestar family, focussing its story arcs on different generational members of the family name.

Additionally, the battles are fascinating thanks to the focus around Stands - psycho-spiritual manifestations with supernatural abilities - and although they aren't introduced right away, their eventual use gives the series a perfect avenue for creativity.

Merely describing the anime is a challenge in itself, as the title's bizarreness does become apparent when watching. However, despite its eccentricity, the gorgeous art style, totally unique approach, the litany of pop culture references and fashion make it a must-see.
