10 Best Arrowverse Performances Of 2019
5. Ben Lewis
Show: Arrow
Episode: 'Present Tense'
Arrow's flash-forward narrative wasn't the show's most coherent, but it was elevated by strong performances from the likes of Ben Lewis and Katherine McNamara. The former, however, finally got his chance to shine when his character, William Clayton - the son of Oliver Queen and Samantha Clayton - was transported to the present.
The scene between him and Stephen Amell in which William came out to his father may just be the most quietly powerful moment in the history of the show. We already knew that William was gay, but the authentic way in which Lewis approached it made viewers feel like they were discovering it for the first time, and that made it all more emotional. The delivery was so genuine, and the heartfelt moment had us all wanting to smile like Oliver and give him a big hug.
Everything about his performance was real, and it resonated with so many people; moving would be an understatement.
