10 Best Battles In Buffy The Vampire Slayer History

1. The Destruction Of Sunnydale

The final battle of Sunnydale was without a doubt one of the best battles in Buffy history. It was always going to be. As the final time we'd ever see the gang on TV, they had to go out with a bang. A literal bang that took the entire town of Sunnydale with it, to be precise.

We'd seen some amazing showdowns over the final season of Buffy, possibly more than any other season, but it was this finale that really stuck in mind as a memorable and important moment in Buffy's history.

As Buffy and the potentials fought the ubervamps in the Hellmouth, Willow harnessed the magic in the scythe to make every potential Slayer an actual Slayer. Despite the history-making spell actually working, this was a battle with horrific consequence. There was death, sacrifice and a lot of casualties. Anya's death, in particular, still hurts.

But even when the battle was done, the team had to escape from the town as it collapsed around them and fell into a crater. The big TV finale for Buffy was everything that fans could have wanted and more. It was shocking, epic and memorable, but little did we know back then that we'd get a continuation in the comics.

Even without the comics, the end of season seven works as a perfect, fitting climax of the story.
