In the season five finale, Glory has taken Dawn hostage and Buffy has to stop her from using her sister's blood to open a portal to a hell dimension. She puts up a spectacular fight against the god, until Glory punches her head right off. Discovering that the Slayer has been a robot all along throws Glory for a moment, allowing the real Buffy to step in and kick her ass with the super strong troll hammer.

As Buffy makes her way high up the tower to rescue Dawn, she and Glory fight on the unstable surface, climb poles, swing on chains and use the environment to their advantages, before Glory pushes Buffy over the edge. Buffy grabs the god and they fall down to the ground together. As the fight continues, Glory is hit by a wrecking ball and Buffy uses this advantage to pummel her with the hammer.

Leaving Glory weakened, and assuming she's defeated, Buffy rushes off to save Dawn. Giles discovers Glory has transformed back into her human form and finishes the job for Buffy by suffocating Ben.

When Buffy reaches Dawn, she's too late and the portal has been opened, which leads her to make the ultimate sacrifice and give her life to save the world.
