10 Best Battlestar Galactica Moments

1. Caprica Six Kills A Baby

Battlestar Galactica
Universal

Caprica Six was the first humanoid Cylon we as an audience saw. Beautiful, strong, passionate, she seemed interesting as a person and even more so as her iconic Cylon model.

In the mini-series, opening to Battlestar Galactica, Caprica Six encounters a mother and her baby. After asking to see the baby, Caprica Six tries to soothe the baby as it cries, hauntingly stating that it wouldn't have to cry for much longer, alluding to the impending Cylon invasion and humanity's nuclear holocaust.

While the mother was distracted by her husband, Caprica Six became fascinated by how fragile the baby and its neck was, supporting so much weight on such a small frame. This morbid curiosity leads Caprica to place her fingers around the baby's neck, applying just enough pressure for the baby to cry followed by a horrifying crack.

This scene is not nearly the most memorable of the series, or even of that episode itself, yet it is one of the most important scenes not just to define Caprica Six's character but also the entire tone of Battlestar Galactica's new reboot.

For while she did kill a baby seemingly in cold blood the legitimate shock and horror she felt afterward showed us how even though they are robotic in nature, the Cylons are capable of feeling deep emotions, making them no different from us and showing overall how this war really is just humanity fighting itself, as it always does and always will.
