10 Best Buffy The Vampire Slayer Characters

9. Glory

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Spike Buffy
Mutant Enemy

Most Buffy fans agree Adam is a disappointing Big Bad, and that’s putting it mildly. Glory, on the other hand, is a breath of fresh air. As a goddess trapped in human form, she has supernatural abilities and she’s almost invincible in hand-to-hand combat.

Throughout the show’s fifth season, she’s a constant threat. Buffy, Spike, and Willow – despite their considerable strength – are simply no match for her. And if it wasn’t for the Dagon Sphere and Olaf’s enchanted hammer, the Scoobies would not have been able to take her down.

As terrifying as she may be, however, Glory is strangely likeable. Her child-like sense of pride and her sharp dialogue are always entertaining. Rather like Cordelia, her insults are amusing as well as mean.

Put simply, Glory was exactly what the show needed after Season 4. She’s one of the best villains in the show and easily the most entertaining Big Bad beyond the high-school seasons.
