10 Best Child Actors On TV

9. Holly Taylor - The Americans

Holly Taylor plays Paige Jennings, the unsuspecting daughter of two KGB operatives living in the United States during the Cold War. It's a particularly interesting role for a young actress to play, because it takes the stereotype of teenagers being mistrustful and judgmental of their parents and turns it on its head. She's not just a typical teenager questioning the adults around her -- she actually has good reason to be suspicious. After all, they are lying to her! The incredibly tense relationship between Paige and her mother (played by Keri Russell, who was herself a child actress) frames most of the domestic drama, and creates startlingly realistic moments in a household that is all about things that aren't as they seem. Taylor gives audiences a much needed sense of normality and a sympathetic character, one that we can identify with as she tries to determine what's really going on with her family. Her abilities are on full display in pivotal dramatic scenes throughout the show, particularly when she discovers the truth about her mother and father.
