10 Best Christmas TV Episodes Ever

8. Friends - "The One With The Holiday Armadillo"

This classic episode of Friends begins as we learn that Ross' seldom-seen son Ben is to visit for the holidays, and Ross is keen to teach him about his Jewish lineage, while also not wanting to disappoint him by downplaying the Santa myth. When it turns out that Ross can't get a hold of a Santa outfit, he decides to dress as the only thing he can find, a "Holiday Armadillo" uniform, an absurd get-up with which he presents Ben his Christmas gifts while trying to shoehorn in the message of Hanukkah, with hilariously inept results. It gets worse for Ross when Santa (Chandler) and Superman (Joey) show up, completely diverting Ben's attention and ruining Ross' attempts to educate his young son. Ross has always been a hit and miss character as far as the show goes - he's either too over the top or too subdued - but this is one episode that totally got him right, the suit being a superb gimmick to hang on his character. It also allowed David Schwimmer to enact some ripe physical comedy, again, something that has always been one of his comic strengths.
