10 Best Comic Book TV Shows Never Made

While this Dark Horse comic may not be as recognisable a property as the rest of this list, a show based around The Amazing Screw-On Head would have been something completely unique and undeniably enjoyable.

Coming from Hellboy creator, Mike Mignola, The Amazing Screw-On Head is just as bizarre as it sounds. Based around a robot living during the Lincoln's Presidential reign, the titular character has the ability of removing his head and attaching it to different bodies. Despite having nothing more than a one shot comic to its name, the property received an order for a TV pilot, though a series was ultimately never picked up.

With an impressive cast, featuring Paul Giamatti as Screw-On Head, Patton Oswald as his servant Mr. Groin, and David Hyde Pearce as the villainous and wonderfully named Emperor Zombie, the show would have almost automatically been worth a watch.

Without a recognisable superhero name behind it however, perhaps the world wasn't ready for a story in which the villain has a self-admitted petty vengeance fetish.
