10 Best Doctor Who Crossovers Ever

6. Dimensions In Time

Doctor Who The Day Of The Doctor
BBC Studios

Dimensions in Time was a two-part story broadcast in 1993, making it the first since '85's Revelation of the Daleks. The program was created to mark the 30th anniversary of Doctor Who, and it was used to raise money for a charity appeal organized by the BBC called Children in Need.

One of the show's main narrative features was that it incorporated a crossover of Doctor Who and the EastEnders, effectively placing them in the same universe. The 3rd through the 7th Doctors were all present, as were many of their companions. The 1st and 2nd Doctors' pictures were used to include them due to the deaths of William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton.

The plot revolves around the Rani's attempt to create a menagerie of all living creatures in space and time. Because she knows the Doctor will attempt to stop her desire to acquire a human, she places him in a temporal trap, which ensnares all of the Doctor's past and future incarnations.

What made this program unique was that the plot was affected by the fans. They could call in to cast a vote to determine which of two EastEnders characters would help the Doctor. In the end, Mandy Salter won over Big Ron, with 53% of the vote.
