When Netflix started with original programming with House of Cards, who would have guessed that it has amassed such a quality lineup on par with HBO or AMC? After House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, Netflix added other shows like Hemlock Grove, Narcos, Sense8, and even Marvel shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones. But a real sleeper among the list was Bloodline, a show about a Florida Keys family who owns a beachfront hotel, but has significant skeletons among each of the family members, and the skeletons get brought to life when the black sheep of the family, Danny, comes back after an extended absence and threatens to expose the family for what they truly are. The show is carried by the performance of Ben Mendelsohn, who plays Danny. His presence on the screen is haunting, and he really pulls the audience into the character. A lesser-known name than other stars Kyle Chandler (formerly of Friday Night Lights), Linda Cardellini (formerly of Freaks and Geeks), and Sissy Spasek (formerly of Oscar-winning performances); Mendelsohn outshines them all in his portrayal of Danny.
