Actor Michael Chiklis has voiced several characters in Family Guy over the years, including one of Peter's fisherman rivals in the aforementioned episode, 'A Fish Out of Water'. But his most prominent role (not to mention his funniest) is that of the uncouth mafia member, Big Fat Paulie.

'There's Something About Paulie finds Peter in debt to the mafia, and, to pay off this debt, the Don orders him to spend an evening with his nephew, a man so annoying and intolerable that no-one can bear to be around him. Big Fat Paulie invites himself back to Peter's house after their trip to the cinema, and ends up putting a hit out on Lois for objecting to his and Peter's friendship.

Peter finds out and asks Paulie to call off the hit, but as he begins to dial the phone, a gunman in a car shoots Paulie uninterruptedly for close to thirty seconds, after which he drops down dead in a puddle, riddled with bullet holes.

Naturally, his death marks the end of Big Fat Paulie's part in the series. Still, his role was a welcome change to the series, however brief.
