10 Best Halloween Themed TV Episodes You Have To See

9. Fright Night - The Brady Bunch

The Simpsons Treehouse Of horror the shining
CBS

Heading back to a more classic series, this 1972 episode of The Brady Bunch is super cheesy but is still a fun time, with some moments that would be legitimately creepy for young kids. In the opening sequence, the Brady girls wake up in the middle of the night to see a ghost right outside their bedroom. They're scared out of their minds, the music swells like this is an episode of The Twilight Zone, and then the show immediately cuts to commercial. Woah.

It turns out it's just the boys playing a prank, which doesn't really make sense since the ghost was partially transparent before, but whatever. The girls realize what happened and set out to get revenge, and so the whole episode just turns into the kids trying to scare each other for 20 minutes. That leads to the boys waking up and hearing a spooky voice moaning while a chest begins to open on its own and a sheet rises up as if being possessed. Eventually, they decide to join forces to scare Alice, because why not scare the hell out of the nice woman who takes care of everyone?

It's a classic episode that perfectly captures the mischievous feeling of Halloween as a kid, pulling pranks and scaring your friends or siblings just to be a jerk.
