10 Best Halloween Themed TV Episodes You Have To See

8. The Haunted Mask - Goosebumps

You could say that most Goosebumps episodes are appropriate to watch during October, but its very first outing is the only story to actually be about Halloween itself. The Haunted Mask follows Carly Beth, a young girl whose friends just keep scaring her. She was going to dress in a cute duck costume for Halloween, but she changes her mind and wants something frightening this year to freak out her peers and get back at them.

She ends up at this weird costume store where she steals an absolutely disgusting mask, and low and behold it does indeed scare everyone. The mask starts affecting her personality, though, and she soon discovers that she can't take it off. It's now permanently fused with her skin. It's sort of a ripoff of the Twilight Zone episode The Masks, but it's an effective ripoff. Watching this as a kid in the '90s, it was hard to ever look at putting on a mask the same way again, and it remains pretty unsettling today.

One of the most eerie aspects of the episode isn't even the mask. Carly Beth's mom makes this horrifyingly realistic mold of her daughter's face, and when nobody is looking, the thing moves and gives a creepy smile, and later it actually starts talking. Try getting that out of your head anytime soon.
