10 Best Hannibal Episodes

Season 1, Episode 6 kicks off by introducing one of the most crucial characters in Hannibal's premier season: Doctor Abel Gideon. The episode begins with Gideon being whisked into an emergency by a nurse after dropping down unconscious. As the nurse sets to work on reviving him, Gideon is shown slowly picking his lock and rising up to kill her.

The sight of this is nurse is seriously beyond bloody, and definitely in amongst the most jaw-dropping in the show's first season. Her body being plastered with various surgical instruments is a type of kill that only the Chesapeake Ripper is capable of, or at least that's what his doctor, Dr. Chilton believes.

As well as featuring one of the show's most memorable kills from its opening seasons, Entree is a vital point in the development of season one. It introduces the two characters of Gideon and Chilton who both have huge impacts on Will Graham and his psyche, as well as both becoming two more of Hannibal's victims, but couples the bloodiness of the nurse's death with some stunning revelations and tragic developments surrounding the likes of Miriam and her own ill-fated investigation into the Ripper...
