8. Blitzgiving
A later season instalment, this episode sees an appearance from the one joke character the Blitz, a comically unlucky figure whose limited potential is effectively disarmed by a typically charming turn from Lost’s Jorge Garcia (whatever became of the Hurley actor, anyway?).
What should be a
dumb bit—the mere presence of the Blitz guarantees some sad sack disaster for
everyone present, and he arrives at the gang’s Thanksgiving celebrations, a day
which is already prone to mishaps—ends up becoming a surprisingly satisfying
instalment as the characters desperately attempt to avoid the unlikely and
over-the-top curse of the Blitz and are nonetheless snookered at every turn.
It’s a solid, silly holiday outing, one which can’t even be ruined by the presence of the most hated love interest this show ever floated, the insufferable Zoey (apologies to Once Upon A Time star Jennifer Morrison, but boy did this character suck).
