9. AnnaSophia Robb (Carrie - The Carrie Diaries)
When the CW announced plans to turn Candace Bushnell's teen novel The Carrie Diaries into a series which would act as a prequel to Sex and the City there were a lot of naysayers. A lot of critics saw it as a money-making scheme which, if executed badly, could ruin the whole legacy of Sex and the City. Imagine our surprise, then, when The Carrie Diaries made its debut and managed to totally win us over. There's a lot to praise about the series, including the fashion, the authentic 1980s soundtrack- not to mention Katie Findlay and Chloe Bridges as Carrie's friend Maggie and her enemy Donna LaDonna. The real star of the show, though, is undoubtedly AnnaSophia Robb as Carrie Bradshaw. AnnaSophia has totally nailed the nuances and quirks that made Sarah Jessica Parker's portrayal of Carrie come alive as well as it did. Even subtle things like the way AnnaSophia runs around Manhattan in high heels, or the way the she runs her hands through her hair when she speaks make it feel like you could be watching a young Sarah Jessica Parker instead of a completely different actress. Having said that AnnaSophia doesn't just give a copycat performance and it's the something extra that she brings to the role that really makes her shine as Carrie Bradshaw.
