10 Best League Of Gentlemen Characters

9. Les McQueen

While Royston Vasey was filled to the brim with repugnant individuals, it wasn't without it's tragic or (dare I say?) sympathetic figures. And for Les McQueen, the former rhythm guitarist for the fantastically named rock band Creme Brulee, his life is nothing but attempts to retell and relive his not-so infamous glory days.

Les vacillated between annoying and endearing as he tried to relate to current and aspiring musicians - talking to them as if they were peers and instilling in them pearls of wisdom and glorious tales.

Maybe, the reason why he was one of the best characters in the series was because he was so different from all the others.

There wasn't anything sleazy, morose or revolting about the character, and it's almost as if he were pulled from a completely different show. Yet, he inhabited the dark tragedies that were similar to the other Royston Vasey residents. The subtle moments we saw Mark Gatiss swallow pain and chuckle through his failings were in tone with the show's overall theme.

We genuinely felt for this guy, but also we can see why he was so annoying. He was a man who can't let go of the past, and was stuck in time as the unwanted member of an already forgotten band.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
