10 Best Minor Stargate SG-1 Characters
3. Ishta (Jolene Blalock)
Ishta appeared only twice, played by Star Trek Enterprise star Jolene Blalock (better known to fans as T'Pol). Ishta serves as the leader of the Hak'tyl, a group of all-female Jaffa renegades who have broken away from Moloc to preserve female Jaffa children. Moloc's (somewhat pointless) obsession was to have only the strongest of Jaffa, so he ordered the female children to be burned alive. His high priestess, Ishta, instead stole them away and raised them.
When SG-1 first meet Ishta and the Hak'tyl, they are intrigued and help them to overcome their reliance on Goa'uld symbiotes with the medicine Tretonin. They form a test group for Tretonin, proving that it's not completely effective.
Ishta's passion for her cause and her people are at stark odds with Blalock's regular portrayal of a stoic Vulcan. The fiery relationship that she forges with Teal'c is one based on mutual respect and admiration. A real shame she was only with us for two episodes.
