10 Best Moments From Spider-Man The Animated Series
7. Spider-Man And Taina - Episode’s “Make A Wish” / “Attack Of The Octobot”, Season 3
Kind of a cheat with this entry, but there are many moments that these two share that are just so endearing it couldn't be helped.
What's great about these moments is that, for many children like myself who watched this, we essentially were Taina in many ways. From the posters and news articles that adorned her bedroom walls to the drawings she makes and how much she loves Spider-Man.
We get an in-depth look at who Peter is, and how heart-warmingly relatable this character can be, and it is really touching. It's also nice for the show's writers to take time out from Spider-Man's crime-fighting adventures and show us his more human side as he bonds with his 'biggest fan'. It's charming and very sweet to watch, especially as an adult watching it back (Seriously, who wouldn't want an indoor web-swing?)
The final moment is the most impactful however, as Spidey remarks that "she's more of a superhero than I'll ever be" coupled with the sign for Tania's home: 'Wish Come True Foundation for Terminally Ill Children'. Wow. It's a bitter-sweet reveal that showcases why this show is still so engaging: down to earth moments, a strong message, and a hero that young audiences can look up to.
