6. Independent Together
Independent Together is a musical number from The Steven Universe Movie. In the film all of the Crystal Gems - and the villain of the film, Spinel - have been essentially reverted back to factory settings, and don't remember anything about their lives.
Pearl has been especially hard to get through to, as she has attached herself to Greg as his completely selfless and devoted servant. Steven and his dad decide to jog her memory with music at a local concert, but their efforts have so far fallen flat.
Finally, Steven is performing with his dad, and they fuse (not sure how to feel about that). The song they sing helps Pearl to recover her memories and helps the Crystal Gems to reform their bonds. It also underscores the major conflict of the movie by leaving Spinel out of the fun.
The musical number is (literally) uplifting and has a lot of fun visuals. There is even a brief moment where we see the pilot design for Pearl. Ultimately, it's the stand out number of the film.
