2. Clean Break (Season 4, Episode 22)

Some viewers had been growing slightly disenchanted with the series during Season 3, but the millions who stuck with it into Season 4 have been thoroughly rewarded with episodes like 'Clean Break' and the start of Schmidt and Cece's engagement.

It was an emotional time saying goodbye to the fantastic Coach, but the show's other characters put in performances to suggest they'd make up for him going ahead into the future, and the door was (and still is) left open for a return.
