10 Best New TV Shows Of 2016 Ranked

5. The Night Manager

Stranger Things
BBC

When you take a wonderful espionage novel by John Le Carre, give it to Oscar-winning filmmaker Susanne Bier, and cast Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie, well, you can expect to get a pretty great TV show out of the mix. The show is The Night Manager.

The espionage thriller presents a man out for revenge and a strong, dangerous and unapproachable criminal boss. Hiddleston plays a soldier-turned-night manager-turned-spy as he strategically and carefully infiltrates the world of his nemesis, Laurie, and attempts to take him down.

The cast is brilliant and the setting of the show takes places all over the globe, in beautiful and dangerous locations. The plot is grand, and brings the world of covert operations, spies, and world-threatening villains, right to our screen. Le Carre never wrote a sequel, but fans are, nonetheless, hoping for a second season!

I like to think of myself as a world traveler and social butterfly, although I do spend a lot of my time watching the latest Japanese anime series, sitcoms, movies, and drama series. I live on the island of Crete, where I was born, and enjoy walking on the beach with my little cocker spaniel, Molly, when I'm not writing for WhatCulture.com and UNILAD.co.uk.
