David Attenborough could talk in depth about CrossFit and make it worth listening to, so when he has actually engaging subject matter (which, well, is always) then it's bound to be something fascinating. Such is the case with Dynasties, the big new Attenborough series of 2018.

It doesn't quite have the same sense of grandeur and wonder as its predecessors Planet Earth II and Blue Planet II, but it's nonetheless another gorgeous look at the creates who inhabit our planet, with an unparalleled level of access to some of the most amazing animals around.

Whether it's the battle of George, shrugging off the loss of a finger to reclaim his throne in some Wire-esque, 'you come at the King, you best not miss' storytelling, a waddle of penguins against a stunning aurora borealis, or the family feud of the painted wolves, it's an incredible look at wildlife, utilising Attenborough's narration alongside state-of-the-art technology, and a superb level of insight not only into its colourful critters, but their ecosystems, and a timely message about planet Earth itself as well.
