10 Best Nickelodeon Live-Action Shows

7. The Adventures Of Pete & Pete

Peteandpete JpySeries Run: 1993-1996 (34 episodes) The Adventures of Pete & Pete doesn't seem to have the same clout nowadays as Nickelodeon's best sitcoms, which is a shame because it is infinitely more watchable than the likes of Victorious. The show is about two brothers who happen to have the same name, Pete Wrigley, known as Big Pete and Little Pete. The show was surprisingly experimental for a kids series, there were several sequences that seemed like they could have taken place on a more child-friendly and less murdery version of Twin Peaks. Pete & Pete will also be remembered for its vast collection of guest actors who became famous including Steve Buscemi (in a surprisingly large role), Adam West, Selma Blair, Chris Elliot, LL Cool J, J.K. Simmons, and Michelle Trachtenberg. This show takes what seems to be one of the most hackney and overused concepts (two brothers caught up in sibling rivalries, yet they still love each other) and makes it eminently watchable and unique. It featured a broad cast of characters that felt at once strange and familiar, capturing what it's like to live in the kooky suburbs.
