Series 5 Episode 5: Jeremy's Manager
To be a truly memorable character in Peep Show, they have to stand out as being just as depraved as Jeremy or as ruthless as Mark. While characters like Nancy and Johnston go above and beyond that threshold respectively, it's Cally who flies on the screen for a brief moment and sets a new standard for the series.
Jeremy and Hans finally get a chance at a record deal, and their manager just so happens to be the no-nonsense, straight-to-the point and very domineering Cally. At first presented as a direct, failed romantic interest to Jeremy, her attention and claws sink into Mark just as quickly and she becomes a wedge to drive between the two of them.
It could be a long-shot to call Cally the female equivalent of Alan Johnston, but the similarities are there to be examined. She disregards Jez far too easily, enchants Mark with her business brain (and bedroom dominance), and delivers bolshie business lines straight from Johnston's book of wisdom.
In the end it wasn't meant to be with either Jez or Mark; when her mystic beliefs throw Mark off, and ruthless music tactics chuck Jez out his own band, payback comes in the form of camaraderie between the two as they vandalise her motor-home.
Not for long, as they try to blame the destruction on each other later on.
