10 Best Performances In Better Call Saul

3. Michael Mando - Nacho Varga

Better Call Saul's most underrated performer, Michael Mando portrayed embattled drug dealer Nacho Varga for all six seasons of the show, and in the process gave a performance of staggering depth and emotional gravitas.

At first another villain poised to be a devastating threat to Jimmy McGill, it soon becomes clear that Nacho is more than meets the eye. Brutal and intimidating, yes, but also crafty, surprisingly sensitive, and with a deep, hidden desire to escape the life that's tore his old one apart.

Mando's performance relies mostly on glances, mainly because the writers realised he could portray so much -- from intense anger to great sadness and anxiety -- with just his eyes and his scowl.

One of the show's most put-upon characters, Nacho was low-key a heartbreaker, and Mando made sure to find the fine line between the antagonism of the man and the anti-hero lurking within. His final scene remains a series high.
