10 Best Performances In Prison Break
3. Michael Scofield - Wentworth Miller
Of the two leading brothers who championed Prison Break, it was the genius mastermind Michael Scofield who was the more compelling to watch. From the very first scene, Wentworth Miller was a cypher to unfold as every move he made in the first season was a (semi) calculated act to free his brother from death row.
Wentworth provided a great contrast to Dominic Purcell's Lincoln Burrows - while the latter was hulking, hot-tempered and more impulsive, Michael was instinctively the opposite. The way in which Wentworth Miller portrayed the savant architect-turned-criminal was a patient choice that was often times calming.
Later on in the series when characters like Bellick, Sucre, Lincoln and even Sara, hatched drastic plans together, it was the presence of Michael that was reassuring. Michael's input and final decision-making reminded us there were adults in the room during the convicts' mischief.
While Wentworth had a very stable script to work with, his brilliant performance resided in watching Michael tinker away and examine his surroundings - adding to his plot later on. Wentworth wasn't just looking at his surroundings, we could actually see and feel the character work things out with every little glance.
