7. Vance Maximus Renegade Starsoldier
When Rick & Morty decided to do an Avengers-style episode, nothing could prepare the audience for how mad it all was.
In their preparation to kill an enemy known as Worldender, Rick & Morty re-unite with The Vindicators. The Avengers-type team that stops villainy in their universe, the leader of which is one Vance Maximus Renegade Starsoldier.
A spoof of Captain America, Iron Man and Superman, he is the cool poster boy for The Vindicators who indulges in sexy drinking and quips that make everybody laugh. He is voiced by Christian Slater who couldn't be more perfect in the role.
Of course, when it is revealed that Rick defeated Worldender alone whilst hammered drunk and is now trying to kill The Vindicators, Vance's veil slips and shows him to be a terrified and anxious individual. Which is what makes his brutal death all the more hilarious.
He tries to leave the cave that they have found themselves in only to be shot, chainsawed, and cut in half (at the least) by Rick's anti-escape trap. His dismembered legs then fall to the floor and his jets activate causing his legs to fly around the room until they are destroyed by Crocubot.
Few things have ever been as bluntly funny in the show as seeing the leader of a superhero team get mercilessly killed by Rick, which is what makes Vance's story so brilliant.
