10 Best Robin Episodes Of How I Met Your Mother
Our favourite episodes all aboot Robin Scherbatsky, Robin Sparkles, and Robin Daggers.
How I Met Your Mother's Pilot episode tricked fans into thinking that Cobie Smulders was playing the titular mother, until it ended with the bombshell revelation that this character was, in fact, the kids' Aunt Robin. The first of How I Met Your Mother's several plot twists set up the incredible, lovable, wonderful character that is Robin Scherbatsky.
Robin's character evolves throughout How I Met Your Mother. Appearing in all 208 episodes, she starts as a woman so afraid of commitment she can't even let herself have many close friendships.
But, by the end of season one, she's a part of one of the most tight-knit friend groups in sitcom history. Robin is always focused on her job as a journalist, and that pays off with her becoming unbelievably successful by season nine.
This Canadian-born Vancouver Canuck fan has her fair share of focus throughout How I Met Your Mother.
Robin has the most lines in nineteen different episodes, and plays a key role in most of HIMYM's half hours. Many episodes definitely come across as Robin-centric, putting the former teen pop star in the limelight - as she indeed deserves to be.
10. The End Of The Aisle
The End of the Aisle tells a story which neither the fans nor the characters of How I Met Your Mother ever expected to be told: Barney Stinson's wedding.
That's right, the man so terrified of relationships he wrote two whole books on how to keep one-night stands as one-night stands was actually getting married. And what's more, he's marrying Robin.
Robin calls Ted in to speak with her just before the wedding, and has some cold feet. She tells Ted she wants to run away with him and get married in Chicago. Ted turns her down, because, after nine seasons, he's finally over her. Robin, distraught, runs out and (literally) bumps into the Mother.
This is how Robin and the Mother first meet. The Mother gives Robin the advice she needs to go through with her wedding after all: close her eyes, and take three deep breaths. Right then, Barney appears, and vows to always be truthful to Robin. The pair then find the strength to go through with their wedding.
Their wedding ceremony actually happens just a few minutes later, and it's beautiful, with Robin walking down the aisle to a piano version of Sandcastles in the Sand and Marshall ending his slap bet with Barney.
As they reach the end of the aisle, we get to see how far Robin and Barney have come that they're able to commit to each other.
