The Expanse is an underrated show. It's also one of the least talked about shows currently on TV. But, it also happens to be one of the most exciting science-fiction dramas of the past decade - in the same vein as Battlestar Galactica.

The Expanse deserves any praise that comes its way. The show had humble beginnings on the SyFy channel back in 2015 and was ultimately cancelled by the network after three seasons due to financial restrictions. The Expanse is a grand and mesmerising spectacle of space action therefore an excessive budget is expected.

Luckily for us, Amazon Prime picked it up and aired a fourth season of the show. Thanks to the popularity of streaming services, The Expanse has gained a much higher fan base and a fifth season is expected to drop at the end of 2020.

The Expanse, based on a series of novels by James S. A. Corey, takes place in the far future after mankind has populated the outer reaches of our solar system. We follow a ragtag crew as they go off course to uncover a conspiracy theory that will threaten an oncoming war between Earth and Mars.

The Expanse is both high stakes drama and impressive science-fiction action.
