10 Best Seinfeld Episodes According To IMDb

4. The Outing (IMDb Rating 9.4)

Seinfeld Jerry George
NBC

In The Outing, Elaine jokes that Jerry and George are a gay couple and the woman who overhears them turns out to be a reporter for NYU.

The reporter, Sharon, later interviews Jerry whilst George is in the room, and their interactions make her believe that they actually are a couple and so she publishes an article about the pair. Jerry later tries to convince Sharon that he is straight and is attracted to her. George decides to use the article as an excuse to break up with his girlfriend. Naturally the pair's attempts to convince the women don't go to plan.

This episode is very Jerry and George-centric, with less for Elaine and Kramer to do. The Outing is almost a farce, where the more the characters try to explain the truth the less they are believed.

In 1996, when the episode originally aired, The Outing was awarded a GLAAD award.
