10 Best Seinfeld Episodes According To IMDb
2. The Soup Nazi (IMDb Rating 9.5)
The star of this episode isn't the fab four but the titular character himself, The Soup Nazi.
Jerry and George tell Elaine all about a new soup shop that's opened but describe the owner Kassem as the Soup Nazi. He has a very precise way that he expects his customers to order, and if you break these rules then there's "no soup for you".
George runs into trouble when he requests bread with his soup. Jerry and his girlfriend have issues ordering when they are seen kissing in the line and fall foul of the Soup Nazi's rules.
Elaine stumbles upon an antique armoire on the way to the store and ends up asking Kramer to watch it for her when she's unable to get it into her apartment- though he doesn't do the best job, when two men come along and steal the armoire. Kramer offers to get Elaine a new one, which ultimately comes from a surprising source.
Later, Elaine heads to the soup store, and the way she orders causes so many problems that she ends up getting banned from the shop.
The Soup Nazi is one of Seinfeld's most famous episodes and the Soup Nazi himself has become an iconic character, with appearances in popular media outside the show. Larry Thomas, who portrayed Kassem, was even nominated for a Daytime Emmy for his performance here.
The episode is one of the funniest in Seinfeld as every character, with the exception of Elaine, goes along with what the Soup Nazi wants just to get some of his delicious soup.
