4. Season 2 - Episode 6

Sex Education
Netflix

After Otis & Maeve have fallen out over her telling him how she feels about him, the pair are not talking, so when Otis wants to prove that he is chill, he throws a small-gathering which snowballs into a raging house party.

Getting horribly drunk, Otis shows up both Ola and Maeve in a speech he makes to the two of them, which neither of them can stand.

Meanwhile, Eric and Adam's tryst is no longer enough for Eric and he tells Adam that he wants to be with somebody who is proud to be with him like Rahim is. It is a big moment for Adam, whose arc has arguably been the biggest in the whole series, and he wrestles with himself and his sexuality.

The episode not only pushes Otis and Maeve further apart, but it also deals with closeted feelings and the shame that some feel. Adam is finding it hard to be who he really is and Eric wants to be out there with somebody who will stand with him since he isn't ashamed of who he is.

The journey of self-discovery is on full display here and goes to show that all it takes is time, which some people need more of than others.
