When Otis and Eric are dressing up in drag to go and see a film, Maeve gets in Otis's way when she makes it her mission to find who leaked a photo of Ruby's vagina.
Dragging Otis along with her, the pair continue to bond and form a formidable double act as they hunt down the perpetrator. Once the day is saved, they walk back and share a quiet moment with one-another, in-spite of the fact that she has just run away from Jackson's house for dinner, the fact that Maeve keeps Otis's jumper, that he lends her here through the season is a quiet reminder of how close they really are away from everything else.
Elsewhere, Otis ditches Eric at the last minute to be with Maeve and ends up getting robbed and assaulted for being dressed like a woman.
It is a moment where the series first explored Otis actually defending himself sternly and forwarded the Otis & Maeve story. It also dealt with the torture that teenagers can inflict upon one-another psychologically, and how they also have a great ability to stand-up for each other.
In a strange way, this episode is an encapsulation of the series as a whole and the balance between the chaos and the calm.
