Waiting For Duffman has unquestionably been the best Simpsons episode to date in season twenty-six, and Homer's Lance Armstrong reference, while a little dated, was still priceless. The episode opens with a city-wide bicycle day, SpringCycle (Springfield's attempt to save the environment), and Homer immediately makes the comment "I havent ridden a bike since Lance Armstrong was a good guy." Then there's Bart telling Lisa she has the girliest bike in the world only to have Milhouse immediately prove him wrong, and a train take out a couple of bragging cyclists. Ouch. The episode features Duffman breaking a hip, and Homer winning a reality show to become his replacement. There was a ton of gold in Waiting for Duffman, and a couple more gags will make this list, but other highlights included Lisa having an imaginary therapist, a golf themed Duff commercial with the slogan "It's way below par, which in golf is good!" and Homer continually stalling when asked if he would ever drink on the job at the nuclear plant. Not to mention his reaction when told he couldn't drink on the job as Duffman: "You wouldn't tell Batman he can't eat bats!" Or the secret recipe for Duff, held in a safe to which the combination is only known by three people, but immediately opened by Maggie: Schlitz + water.
