Appearing at the end of the great season two episode "18 Miles Out," Wye Oak's "Civilian" served as a stellar cool down to the episode's events. A long time coming, the episode featured a brutal fight between Rick and Shane that ultimately served to show how far Shane had fallen, willing to resort to brutally murdering his own best friend, and even allowed Shane to see via his reflection in broken glass that he himself was, perhaps, not that much different from the dangerously instinctual walkers.

As the episode closes out, Shane sits in silence on the drive back to Hershel's farm, watching out the window as Wye Oak's song plays over the moment. Not only is the song intensely infectious, but it serves to provide a fantastic ending to a strong episode, standing as the perfect example of how great the series is at choosing the right song for the right moment to bring a sequence to a whole other level.

With four seasons worth of great musical choices to choose from, it's inevitable that viewers will likely have their own favorites, whether it's something from this list or even something that's not, so feel free to share some of them down below as we look ahead to what the show's fifth season has in store.
