Sometimes it pays to be a famous writer when you're a fan of the show, you might just be allowed to make a small and exceedingly creepy cameo. Horror maestro Stephen King shows up in early in season 3 as Bachman, the cleaner.

The name Bachman is in fact an in-joke, referencing Richard Bachman, a pseudonym that King used during the 1980's to publish The Running Man and a few others (in order not to oversaturate the market with Stephen King novels, given his prodigious output). King picked the Bachman name on the spot when his published pressed him to pick a name, he had been listening to prog rock back the Bachman-Turner Overdrive that very morning.

While on the run from an arrest warrant, Gemma and Tig are hiding out in the house of the elderly Nate, Gemma's father, who is under the care of Amelia. Amelia discovers that Gemma is on the run and threatens to turn her in, which leads to kidnap, a desperate escape and Tara killing Amelia in self-defence. So Gemma, Tara and Tig need to get rid of the body. Tig, however, knows of a cleaner. Cue Stephen King and his measuring tape.

Bachman asks a few questions, takes a few measurements, claims a statue of some hands as his payment and then makes to leave. They ask, 'What about the body?'

His answer? 'What body.'

Now that's a cameo appearance.
