9. Clay Morrow
For many years, Clay Morrow led the Sons of Anarchy and the club thrived. The President was a fearless leader, and was a master of the fine balance of relationships with those potential enemies around him. He was a First 9 member, but ultimately betrayed the club enough times to earn himself a Mayhem vote.
He tried to kill JT several times (and may have even succeeded) he murdered Piney, paid to have Tara killed, and got the Sons involved with the Galindo cartel, something that cost far more blood than it was worth.
For the majority of season six, it seemed clear that the narrative was heading towards Clay's death, but thanks to his relationship with Galen, it was by no means certain. However, the Sons managed to outsmart both the Irishman and Clay, and found themselves in a room with the former President, and nothing to stop his death.
Jax could have shot Clay anywhere, but the bullet to the throat seemed far more painful and gruesome than it needed to be. This was something Jax had wanted for a few years at this point, so it was no surprise that he made his father-in-law suffer.
