Sons of Anarchy is littered with death and murder, and while some of the best death scenes are so great because of the emotional ties to certain characters, there are some exceptions. In this case, the name of the victim is unknown, but his death is so brutal it's impossible to forget.

When Clay and Bobby went out to the Wahewa land to talk about their ammo supply with Charlie Horse, they stumble across a human head sticking out of the sand, covered in fire ants. This was the manner of suffering and eventual death the Wahewa chose for this man.

This was a spiritual passing for the tribe, as the man had the flesh slowly torn from his face by the insects, while baking in the Californian heat, but Clay was forced to cut the ritual short. After the President told Bobby that he was about to lie to Charlie's face and short change him on their deal, they realised that the victim was still alive, and heard everything.

To stop his secret from getting out, Clay smothered the victim, cutting short his suffering and killing him on the spot. Charlie wasn't happy, as he thought there should have been at least another couple days of fire ants for him, so truly Clay's actions were a mercy.
