10 Best South Park Episodes

Warcraft, Scientology, Christmas specials - Which South Park episodes rank above the rest?

South Park is an entity unto itself. The show has wholly exceeded whatever anyone would have expected after the first season and has become a cartoon icon. The series has achieved this thanks to its incredibly well-written characters, hilarious scenarios, and many outstanding episodes.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker are so good at generating constantly funny set-ups and it's shocking that they are still going strong after all this time. Sure, South Park isn't what it used to be, but the legacy of the show cannot be tainted, as all of the best episodes are far more memorable than the worst.

After running for 23 seasons, it is safe to say that there is a lot of material to choose from. The kids of South Park have been all over the world and done some rather ridiculous things, but no matter where they went, the fans had a good time.

Sadly, it's highly likely that your favourites might not appear, as the show has had so many outstanding outings that it's almost unbelievable. But this is a sign of the high competition that this show has generated among its episodes.

This list has been created through IMDB ratings, the episodes' general receptions, and this writer's opinions. It will also contain spoilers for the episodes discussed.

10. Good Times With Weapons

Since South Park has existed for so long, there has been plenty of times where they've broken out of their signature style. Fans have been able to see the residents of the snowy Colorado town in various animation techniques, but one of the most memorable has to be their time parodying anime.

In the first episode of season eight - Good Times With Weapons - the boys attend a county fair and find a booth selling "authentic weapons from the far east". Of course, they end up purchasing them and imagine themselves as stylised anime warriors. As expected, disaster occurs, as children really shouldn't have access to genuinely deadly weapons.

While this episode is mostly memorable for the boys' hilarious anime-styled depictions, the fundamental story is also a laugh riot. Seeing them get into trouble because of their naivety is incredibly fun to watch, but the lengths they go to in order to hide their crimes - like accidentally throwing a ninja star into poor Butters face - is utterly dramatic and gruesome.

Additionally, the poorly translated battle anime song - Let's Fighting Love - is perfect for the joke, and will be stuck in your head for days.
