10 Best Spider-Man: The Animated Series Episodes
6. Duel Of The Hunters (S2:8)
There's no denying that Spider-Man: TAS is still one of the best Spider-Man cartoons of all-time, but we still must acknowledge that not every episode was gold. The Neogenic Nightmare has a handful of notable episodes that are unfortunately bookended by not-so-remarkable tales.
The Tablet of Time, Hydro-Man, and Shriek of the Vulture are underwhelming. Thankfully, the middle of the second season gave us an interesting entry with Spider-Man finally transforming into Man-Spider.
What began as the Punisher and Spider-Man hunting Morbius turned into the Punisher trying to kill Spidey while Kraven the Hunter surprisingly tries to save him. Although we don't get an animated version of Kraven's Last Hunt, this episode is exciting none-the-less.
The Punisher and Kraven the Hunter scour the city for the Man-Spider while Morbius stalks the students of ESU. Seeing the story play out through the eyes of another character without the benefit of Spider-Man's first-person narration is a welcome departure from the norm.
Although the next episode featuring Blade is fun, Duel of the Hunters is definitely the peak of The Neogenic Nightmare saga.
