10 Best Star Trek Pets

3. Number One

Star Trek

Captain Picard recently came back to the small screen in a brief series named after the titular captain of the Federation's Next Generation of intergalactic travel. In it, fans are given a look towards the future of humanity and the Federation including Picard who moved to his own vineyard to rest after being forced out of the Federation unfairly.

Picard sadly lives mostly alone, aside from his Romulan housekeepers and his pitbull Number One, an obvious and hilarious homage to the second in command of the Enterprise-D Commander Riker.

Number One is actually an addition from Patrick Stewart, who is a massive proponent for people accepting Pit Bulls as companions rather than cage fighters. Number One ended up being in the show quite a lot which certainly helped to make the animal seem much friendlier than many might believe otherwise.

Number One isn't built for space travel or fighting Romulan assassins, but this sweet dog gave Picard plenty of fond memories before the iconic captain went on his final adventure.
